T. Dallas Smith & Company Announces Audra Cunningham as the New Chief Administrative Officer
Cunningham is the firm’s first female senior executive in its 13-year history.

ATLANTA, GA (June 9, 2020) – T. Dallas Smith & Company (TDS&CO), the largest African American-owned commercial real estate firm in the country focused exclusively on tenant and buyer representation, is proud to announce that Audra Cunningham has joined the team as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

Cunningham brings a wealth of experience to TDS&CO including a successful 23-year career in telecommunications.  She built a national client base during her 12 years in commercial real estate working for some of the largest firms in the world including JLL, CBRE and Newmark Knight Frank. Most recently, she served as Senior Regional Leasing Director for Physicians Realty Trust where she was responsible for leasing over three million square feet of medical office space in the southeast.

“We are absolutely thrilled that Audra chose T. Dallas Smith & Company,” stated Dallas Smith, the firm’s Founding CEO. “She is an incredible talent with a powerful voice and ability to build strategic alliances in the community for our firm. She will certainly blaze trails for women and minorities with the desire to pursue careers in commercial real estate.”

It is no secret that minorities make up less than 2 percent of senior-level positions in commercial real estate. The number falls to less than 1 percent for women of color. As the first CAO for the firm, Cunningham breaks the barrier of this double impediment. Cunningham will focus on business development, talent development and recruitment. She believes her experience has led her to this pinnacle moment in her career and she looks forward to this new chapter.

At TDS&CO, the celebration of diversity and inclusivity for all persons is a core value.

Cunningham offers this perspective on her new role at TDS&CO, “I have admired what Dallas and his team have accomplished for some time. After spending time with the team and witnessing the culture, I knew this is where I wanted to be. I am eager to leverage my expertise and experience as the CAO on the dynamic team of outstanding professionals; and continue to deliver our clients an unparalleled level of care with the highest professional standards.”

Cunningham has represented law firms, government contractors, non-profits, corporations and healthcare in over 2M square feet of leasing across the country. She is an active member of the industry and her community: CoreNet board member and co-chair of the Diversity in Action committee, member of the Atlanta Board of Commercial Realtors, the Atlanta Business League, member of Empire Board of Realists, founding member of the Network of Empowered Women in Commercial Real Estate, member of OnBoard, founder of No Opportunity Wasted and Vice President of the Grant Park Neighborhood Association.

Cunningham studied Business Administration at Mercer University.
